APRIL 18 - INTERNATIONAL DAY OF MONUMENTS AND SITES

Since 1983, UNESCO commemorates April 18 as the International Day of Monuments and Sites by adopting a recommendation from the International Council on Monuments and Sights (ICOMOS). Various events held in many countries on that day substantially raise the level of public awareness on the diversity of the world heritage, its protection and conservation.

International Day of Monuments and Sites is also celebrated in Armenia. This year's events will be titled "Rural Landscapes". Various events will be held in Armenia and Artsakh, including cognitive visits, educational programs, monuments upgrading and cleaning works.
