News / Museum of printing of Armenia has become a member of Association of European Printing Museums

From January 2018, the Museum of printing of Armenia has become a member of Association of European Printing Museums. The aim of the AEPM is to encourage the sharing of knowledge, experience, initiatives, and resources in all fields of the graphic arts as they have been practiced from the time of Gutenberg until the present day. Originally founded as an association of European printing museums, the AEPM has gradually enlarged its remit to include a broad range of organizations and individuals interested in printing heritage, both in Europe and beyond.

The museum presenting the first printed Armenian works. The first book Urbatagirq (Friday book), which was published in Venice in 1512. The first Armenian Bible was published in Amsterdam in 1666-1668, the first Armenian printed map “Large World Map” was published in Amsterdam in 1695, the first Armenian periodical Azdarar (The Monitor Monthly) was published in1794-96 in Madras. The hall Diaspora of Armenian printing representing the Armenian printing centers which were the significant role in the history of Armenian printing.
