What can be seen in the National Gallery of Armenia
The National Gallery of Armenia is the country’s major art gallery. Its collection is displayed in 55 halls, which allow the Gallery to tell the story of national visual arts, decorative-applied arts as well as world culture from ancient times to present days. In the halls of European, Russian, Armenian and Oriental art the visitors are introduced to the art of Aivazovsky, Sarian, Kandinsky, Donatello and other distinguished artists. Due to the installation of a ventilation system in the National Gallery of Armenia, the two floors of the museum are currently open: the "Armenian Impressionism" exhibition with about 70 works by Bashinjaghian, M. Sarian, K. Adamian, Y. Tadevossian, V. Gayfejian, S. Arakelian and other famous Armenian artists and the hall of famous French-Armenian sculptor Hakob Gyurjian, where about 50 works of different genres made of marble, limestone, bronze, wood, Belgian granite are displayed including sculpted heads, animalistic sculptures, historical, mythological and other works.
