Two big masters of Armenian painter-sculptors Ara Sargsyan (1902-1969 gg.) and painter Hakob Kojoyan lived and worked (1883-1959 gg.)in the center of Yerevan for decades with their families. Later, their house was turned into a house-museum.
Museum`s art department presents Ara's art collection belonging to the family of the sculptor: photos and memorable-manuscripts from the student period. You can also get acquainted with theater drawings and graphic works of the painter.
On the second floor the works, handwritten personal documents of Hakob Kojoyan are presented. The most significant contribution of Hakob Kojoyan is in the field of graphics. Deep knowledge of Armenian miniature and possession of the secrets of local art allowed him to make creative use of ornamental motifs in his book illustrations and in Armenian fairy tales.
