If you are planning to come to Armenia, first of all, you need to check visa requirements. Citizens of some countries are exempt from the requirement to obtain a visa for entering the Republic of Armenia. You can see the full list of countries with which RA has visa-free regime here.
For other visitors there are four types of visas available:
If you are visiting Armenia as a tourist, you need to apply for a visitor visa (single or multiple entries). This is a short visa with validity of one year. You can obtain a visa directly at the border, where you need to present a valid passport. On the border you can obtain either transit visa or visitor visa for 21/120 days, all the other types of visas (also with different durations) need to be obtained in advance.
